FC Zuidlaren

FC Zuidlaren, also known as Fusie Club Zuidlaren, is an amateur football club based in Zuidlaren, municipality of Tynaarlo, in the province of Drenthe, the Netherlands. This club was formed on July 1, 2017, through a unique merger of three football clubs: ZFC Zuidlaren, DSZ ’16, and the futsal club Zuidlaren ’87. With both Saturday and Sunday sections, FC Zuidlaren offers a wide range of teams. Home matches are played at “Sportpark Wenakkers” and in “Sporthal De Zwet.”

The history of FC Zuidlaren begins with ZFC Zuidlaren, which itself was formed from the merger of VV Zuidlaren and ZVZ. Previously, ZFC competed with standard teams in both the Saturday and Sunday leagues, but in the 2016/2017 season, the club decided to focus solely on competitive football in the Sunday division. This led to the founding of DSZ ’16, a new club for Saturday football. However, in 2017, the clubs decided to reunite, with futsal club Zuidlaren ’87 also joining, resulting in the birth of FC Zuidlaren.
