RKVV Wilhelmina, founded in 1897, is more than just a football club – it is an institution with a rich history intertwined with the city of ‘s-Hertogenbosch. As one of the oldest football clubs in the Netherlands, RKVV Wilhelmina has brought generations of players and supporters joy and sportsmanship.
The club has experienced a remarkable past. During World War II, the name “Wilhelmina” was banned due to its royal connection. At the time, the club adopted the nickname “De Kanaries” (The Canaries), referring to their bright yellow shirts. In 1946, after the war, the club officially became RKVV Wilhelmina, highlighting its Roman Catholic identity.
RKVV Wilhelmina plays its home matches at Sportpark De Bossche Hoef, which features modern facilities including multiple pitches, spacious dressing rooms, and a welcoming clubhouse.
