SV Gouda

Founded in 1906, SV Gouda has a rich history deeply rooted in the Gouda community. Initially, sports were not widely practiced in the city, with few options beyond gymnastics and occasional Sunday amusements. A passionate group of boys, inspired by their football-savvy friends at Olympia, took the initiative to organize their own matches—marking the humble beginnings of youth football in Gouda.

With dedicated individuals such as Jan and Alie van Vugt, and later Wim and Thea van den Berg, SV Gouda transformed into a vibrant hub for young athletes. Their grassroots efforts led to a resurgence in youth participation, with the number of teams growing from just ten in the early 1980s to around thirty by the early 1990s.

Today, SV Gouda proudly continues its legacy by offering a safe and supportive environment where young footballers can thrive, learn life skills, and embrace teamwork and sportsmanship. Our youth teams actively participate in regional tournaments, promoting growth and a love for the game.
