VPV Purmersteijn, founded on May 5, 1907, is one of the oldest football clubs in North Holland. With a rich history and deep roots in Purmerend, the club began its journey with an official match against Sparta Edam on September 29, 1907. Following a merger with the Sandow football club on January 15, 1946, “VPV” was added, standing for “United Purmerend Football Associations”.
Over the years, VPV Purmersteijn has achieved many successes, including winning the KNVB First Class championship in 1964 and promotion to the Hoofdklasse A in 2017. The club has also produced several well-known players, such as Martin Koeman, Cees de Wolf, and Yuri Rose.
Since 1971, the club’s home has been the complex on Van IJsendijkstraat, which features modern facilities such as artificial turf pitches, a renovated clubhouse, and a beautiful rooftop terrace. VPV Purmersteijn continues to invest in its infrastructure and youth development, aiming to honor its proud tradition and nurture new talent.
