
VV Spirit is a proud Dutch amateur football club based in Ouderkerk aan den IJssel, South Holland. Founded on October 27, 1945, the club has since become a prominent part of the local sports community.
Sportpark Ouderkerk serves as VV Spirit’s home ground, a lively venue where sportsmanship, community spirit, and passion for football come together. The club’s magazine, De Treffer, acts as a communication platform for members and supporters.
Wearing yellow shirts, white shorts, and yellow socks, VV Spirit represents not only its identity on the field but also its strong connection to the local community. With around 1,100 members—approximately 70% coming from nearby towns such as Krimpen aan den IJssel, Lekkerkerk, Schoonhoven, Krimpen aan de Lek, and Rotterdam—the club plays a regional role and brings people from diverse backgrounds together.
VV Spirit has built a reputation as a club with an excellent youth academy, evidenced by its nomination for the Rinus Michels Award for best youth academy in the Netherlands in 2015. Additionally, in 2014, the club was named the Most Enjoyable Amateur Club in the Netherlands, honoring its vibrant and welcoming character.
