BFC, short for Bussumse Football Club B.F.C., is a Dutch amateur football club based in Bussum. The club has a rich history dating back to 1920, when it was founded as Door Vrienden Verenigd (DVV). That same year, the name was changed to BFC, the abbreviation by which the club is still known today.

BFC began humbly, playing on sandy and dusty fields against local teams. But it quickly became clear that the club had both talent and potential. In 1920, BFC joined the NVB (the predecessor of the current KNVB) and began operating officially as a football club. Its first official pitch was located on the heath between the water tower and the cemetery in Bussum.

Over the decades, BFC grew into a prominent football club in the region. In 1950, the original black-and-white kit was replaced with the current blue-white-red colours. In 1963, the club moved to its current home ground at the Meerweg sports complex.

In 2020, BFC celebrated its 100th anniversary, though the festivities were disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The football season was also cut short. Despite this, the club was awarded the Royal Medal of Honour (Koninklijke Erepenning) in September 2021, recognising its contribution to sport and the community. Today, BFC proudly embraces its legacy while looking forward to the future.
