VV IJmuiden Voetbal Vereniging IJmuiden, founded on 1 February 1927 as V.V.IJ., originated from the initiative of Mr. W. Doevendans and Mr. C. Herman Vos. As the football section of the Christian Young Men’s Association (C.J.M.V.), the club registered with the former Haarlem Football Association, entering one team in the Saturday afternoon league under the name IJmuiden.
Although the club was established within a Christian environment, VV IJmuiden has always been known as a neutral Saturday club. Members of all backgrounds have always been and continue to be warmly welcomed.
